Mini Crochet Octopus CAL

Over the years, Amigurumi has always been highly requested on my channel. Although it’s not my specialty, I have dabbled with it in the past. I decided to try giving a Mini Octopus pattern a go and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I’m also pleased that it’s also my first ever CAL. I know, it’s only a MINI CAL, but it’s a start!

So this project will be split into two, the first section being today and then the second will be available next week (14th May 2017) Here you will find the written instructions with the video tutorial at the base of the post. Follow along with your fellow crocheters by using #BCoctopusCAL

Here’s what you will need to make your very own Ollie or Olivia the Octopus:

-Cotton yarn for main body colour. I have used Stylecraft Classique Cotton (Ollie is Peppermint, Olivia is Dizzy Lizzie)

-Cotton yarn in Black (for facial features)

12mm Safety eyes (optional)

3mm Crochet hook

Scissors

Darning needle

-Toy Stuffing

This tutorial is not connected to the preemie baby pattern. If you are intending to make for a preemie baby, you must follow the strict guidelines outlined by your country and the hospital you are intending to donate to. Various websites are available for this information. This pattern is created for your own use ONLY. Please do not share, write up or sell this pattern.

Pattern notes: Project should be worked with a tight tension. Each round starts with a chain 1 which does NOT class as a stitch. Each stitch from each round is to be worked into the base of the initial chain 1.
