Telling my Husband I’m pregnant

If you haven’t heard by now, Anthony and I are expecting our first bundle of joy in October this year and we couldn’t be happier. On Sunday, we told the news to the world and have been on cloud 9 ever since! You can scroll down to the bottom of the post to see our announcement video if you haven’t seen it already.

Today I wanted to share with you the special way I told my Husband Anthony that we were pregnant. I have to be honest, it wasn’t something I’d given a huge amount of thought to until I actually found out, so the way in which I told him was fairly ‘off the cuff’ so to speak.

I actually took the test first thing in the morning and Anthony was working all day, so for me, it was an extremely long day and with each passing hour, my excitement grew and grew. If you want to know more about how I found out I was pregnant, including actual footage of my test, you can watch the video below.

I decided that I wanted to put a little box together for him, so that when he opened it, he was greeted with the pregnancy¬†test saying ‘pregnant’. I nipped to my local book shop and picked up a book called ‘pregnancy for Dads-to-be’ and also got a bib and a dummy to accompany the book. I had calculated our due date using an app and printed out a little note saying. ‘Hi Daddy, I can’t wait to meet you 3rd October 2017’ (which by the way is my Dads birthday!…goosebumps)

When the time came and Anthony pulled up on the drive, it felt like I was waiting a lifetime for him to walk through the door. I started by showing him something that a company had sent me for my blog and then, with my heart pounding out of my chest, I told him to lift the lid on the special box.

After a moment of slight confusion, he turned to me and said “what does that mean?”. I think he thought another company had sent me some goodies for pregnancy…and the the penny dropped. I shall never forget the smile on this face or the feel of the warm embrace as he lifted me off the floor and into this arms.

We are so happy and thankful to be blessed with this little miracle and cannot wait to be parents. I hope you will enjoy following along on our journey.
